We've been working out of this spot in Sector II, Salt Lake City for a while now. The office is at Ee169/3, right in the middle of all the bustle that Kolkata is known for. It gets pretty loud outside during the day with the traffic and people moving around, but we manage just fine. Most of us here at Thiess India take the local transport to get in. Salt Lake is a planned area so it's a bit easier to navigate than other parts of town, though parking is still a headache sometimes. We spend our days mostly looking at files and talking to people about various projects. It isn’t fancy, just a regular workplace with desks and computers. There’s a tea stall nearby where some of the guys go during the break. We don't really do much in terms of big meetings; mostly just getting the job done day by day. The building is okay, nothing special to look at from the outside. Sometimes the lift acts up so we take the stairs. It keeps us moving. We’ve got a small team here and everyone knows each other well. It’s the kind of place where you know whose birthday it is and who likes their chai with extra sugar. We deal with what comes our way and keep things moving. Kolkata weather can be a bit much in the summer, but the AC works well enough to keep us focused on the tasks.
