The Mobile Clinic

Our spot is Shop No P2 in the Ab-AC Market in Sector-1. If you know Salt Lake City, you know how busy the markets can get, especially near the Salt Lake Phari Bus Stop. We are right in the thick of it. The clinic is small, squeezed into the market layout, but it's convenient for people who are already out doing their shopping or catching a bus. It's called a mobile clinic, but this shop is where we base everything. We have a lot of walk-ins—people who just have a quick question or a minor injury that needs looking at. Because we are in Sector 1, we get a real mix of people, from students to elderly residents who have lived in Salt Lake for decades. The space is tight, so we have to keep everything very organized. There’s a lot of noise from the street—horns honking and people calling out—but we’ve grown used to it. Sometimes the heat in the market is a bit much, but we have a small fan that keeps the air moving. We aren't a big hospital with lots of beds; we are just a practical choice for the neighborhood. People stop by on their way home from work or while they are out running errands. It’s a very public way to work, as the front door is usually open to the market air. We just take things as they come, one patient at a time, until it’s time to lock up the shutter.
