The Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co. Ltd.

This little spot of ours is over in Hindmotor, right at 83 Nandan Kanan. You’ll find us near Thakur Das Rai’s house if you’re looking around the neighborhood. It’s not a massive corporate office, just a place where we handle the Bombay Dyeing things for this part of West Bengal. The building has been here for a while, and it feels like part of the furniture now. We mostly spend our time dealing with the textiles, sorting through the different fabrics and making sure everything is where it should be. The Hooghly district weather can get a bit humid, so we keep the windows open when we can. It’s just a handful of us working here, so we all know each other’s names and how we take our tea. Sometimes people come by asking for specific bedsheets or towels, and we do our best to help them out without any fuss. It’s a simple setup. We don’t have fancy rugs or high-end art on the walls, just the usual desks and plenty of samples lying around. Usually, the mornings are the busiest because that’s when the deliveries arrive. We try to keep things organized, but on Mondays, it’s a bit of a scramble. It feels good to be a local business here, seeing the same faces walking by every day.
