Our place is at 60-A, Diamond Harbour Road. If you know this road, you know how much traffic passes by every minute. The sound of horns is just part of the background here at Datre Corporation. We work out of an older style building that has seen a lot of years. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have so many records and equipment parts lying around. We don’t really bother with tidying up just for show; the mess is just part of getting things done. We handle industrial castings and various engineering components. Most of the day is spent checking quality and talking to the people at the foundry. It’s a dusty environment because of the road and the nature of the metalwork we deal with. We have a few old fans that keep the air moving, but it’s still quite humid during the monsoon. The staff here is like a small family. We’ve known each other for a long time, so there’s no need for formal talk. We drink our tea in clay cups from the stall outside and talk about the work. It’s a very hands-on type of business. We don't have a fancy website or a PR person. If someone needs to find us, they just come to Diamond Harbour Road. We’ve been here for ages and plan to stay for a while longer, just keeping the operations moving along.
