Telephone Calls & Callers

At number 9 on Russa Road South, you will find us. We go by the name Telephone Calls & Callers. It is a bit of an old-fashioned name, but it suits the area here in Kolkata. The 700033 neighborhood has that classic West Bengal feel, with the old houses and the trees hanging over the streets. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. The office has high ceilings and those big windows that let in the afternoon light. We spend our days handling various communication tasks and talking to people who walk in. It is not a high-pressure environment. We like to take our time and make sure everything is handled properly. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with the trams and the rickshaws, but we are used to it by now. We usually have the radio on in the background, playing some local stations. There is always someone dropping by for a chat or to ask for help with a phone line. We don’t have any fancy slogans or marketing plans. We just keep our doors open and do what we know how to do. The city of Kolkata is slow and we’ve sort of matched that pace over the years. It is a comfortable way to work, surrounded by people we’ve known for a decade or more. Just a local business doing local things. We often end the day with some tea and snacks from the nearby market.
