Our office is tucked away at 3 C Camac Street, which is a really busy part of Kolkata. It is an older building with a lot of history, and you can hear the constant noise of traffic and horns from the street below all day long. We have been based here for a good while, managing various engineering and design projects for the area. The rooms can get a bit crowded because we have so many old blueprints and project files stacked up in the corners. We don't have a fancy reception area or a lobby, so when people come by, they usually just walk straight into our workspace. It is a very hands-on kind of environment where everyone is involved in the daily grind. We drink a lot of tea and spend plenty of time discussing how to fix specific problems that come up at our sites. The elevators in the building are pretty slow and temperamental, so we usually just walk. We aren't trying to be the most modern office in West Bengal; we just need a place to work where we can focus. Our team is a mix of veterans who have seen it all and younger staff who are just starting out. It is a practical, no-nonsense place where we worry more about the engineering than how we look. We take the work seriously but keep the atmosphere pretty casual and honest.
