Tata Metaliks Ltd.

Tata Metaliks Ltd. has an office here in Baguihati, Kolkata. Specifically, we are at Pubali Apartments on Dakshinpara Road. It’s Flat No- 4 B on the 4th floor. It might seem a bit unusual to have a metal company office in an apartment building, but it works for us. We handle the administrative side and some of the coordination from here. The 4th floor is quite a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens now and then. Inside, the flat is set up with desks and filing cabinets. It’s full of papers and ledgers. Kolkata is a busy city and Baguihati is no exception. There is always noise coming up from the street, but we’ve learned to ignore it while we work. We deal with metals and industrial stuff, which is a heavy business, but this office is where the planning happens. We have a small staff who have been with us for years. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. We’d rather just focus on the logistics and making sure the supply chain is moving. It’s a lot of phone calls and emails every day. We eat our lunch together in the small kitchen area. It’s a very grounded way of working. No one here is trying to impress anyone. We just want to get the numbers right and make sure the orders are shipped out on time. It is a lot of work but we stay on it.
