Tata Medical Center

This place is out in New Town on the Major Arterial Road. It is a big area, Rajarhat, and Jyoti Basu Nagar feels quite different from the old parts of the city. Everything here is more spread out. Tata Medical Center is a large building, and you cannot really miss it if you are driving down the main road. I have been working here for a while, and the commute can be a bit long depending on where you live. There is a lot of glass and steel in the architecture. It feels very modern compared to the older clinics downtown. We have a lot of people coming in from all over the state. The hallways are long and sometimes it takes a few minutes just to walk from one side to the other. There is always a hum of activity, from the machines to the carts being pushed around. The canteen is usually packed around lunchtime. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow when it is busy, so we use the stairs. We spend a lot of time on our feet here. Out the windows, you can see all the new construction happening in New Town. It is a lot of dust and cranes. Inside, we just try to keep things moving as smoothly as we can. It is a big operation, so there are always new people to meet and different things to handle every day. It is a lot of work but it is what we do.
