Our office is right in the Tata Centre at No. 43 Jawaharlal Nehru Road. It’s a very tall and well-known building in this part of the city. If you’ve ever walked down this road, you’ve probably looked up at it. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and people typing away on their keyboards. It feels like a very old-school place sometimes because of how established it is. We handle a lot of the administrative side for the steel works here. There are a lot of files and digital folders we have to organize every single day. The elevators take a bit of time to get you to the right floor especially when everyone arrives in the morning. We have a small canteen area where most of us grab tea during the breaks. It’s usually quite noisy with everyone talking at once. You can see the street from some of the windows, and the view of the city is alright. We don't really do much flashy stuff in this building; it's mostly just work and meetings. The security at the front gate is strict, so we always have to show our cards. It’s just the daily routine for us. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days it's just the sound of the air conditioning humming in the background. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and making sure numbers match up for the reports we send out.
