Tantia Constructions

We’ve been situated on Gariahat Road in South Kolkata for some time now. It’s a lively area, and being at 40B gives us a good vantage point for managing our local projects. The office is often a bit chaotic, with people coming in and out from different sites. We have blueprints spread out over almost every flat surface, and the phone seems to ring whenever we finally sit down for a break. Working in Kolkata means dealing with the humidity and the narrow lanes, which can be tricky for our bigger trucks. We spend a lot of time coordinating with the site supervisors and the material suppliers. It’s not a glamorous job. You spend most of your time worrying about weather delays or if the cement is going to arrive on time. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. People just walk in, find someone to talk to, and we get things sorted. The tea we get from the corner shop is probably the most important part of our morning routine. We focus on the practical side of building, making sure things are done according to the plans. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes things get a bit messy, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the machines running. It takes a lot of patience.
