It’s a quiet enough part of Kolkata, which is nice when we’re trying to focus on project plans. We use this flat as our main base. It’s filled with site boots, hard hats, and a lot of paper. We don't really have a receptionist or anything like that. If you knock, one of us will just come to the door. We’re usually busy with something, but we always have time for a quick chat about a project. Construction is what we do, and we’ve been doing it for quite a while now. We aren't interested in those fancy mission statements you see online. We just want to build things that don’t fall down. Our team is pretty tight-knit. We’ve worked together on many sites across the city. Sometimes things go wrong, like a delivery being late or the rain stopping work, but we just deal with it. It’s part of the life. We like being based in Dhalua. It feels like home. We’re just a bunch of guys who know how to handle concrete and steel. No bells or whistles, just the basics of building. We’ve got a small kettle for tea that’s always running. It’s a bit of a homey environment, even with all the talk of cement and logistics.
