Takahashi Agencies Pvt Ltd is located on the 2nd floor at 1A, Vansittart Row, right near the Calcutta GPO. This part of the city has so much history in the walls. The building is quite old and has high ceilings which makes it feel bigger than it is. Being near the GPO means there’s always people rushing around with envelopes and packages. We spend our days handling various bits of business from our desks. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but you get used to them. We’ve got some old wooden cabinets that have been here since we moved in. They creak when you open them. The light in the afternoon comes in through the big windows and hits the dust motes. It’s a peaceful spot despite being in such a busy area. We often hear the sounds of the street below, the horns and the shouting. It’s just the background noise of our lives now. Sometimes we walk over to the tea shops nearby to stretch our legs. There are a lot of files stacked up because we’ve been at this for a long time. It’s not a shiny modern office, but it’s where we work and it feels right. We don't worry about the small stuff, just keep things moving. The clock on the wall is five minutes fast but we don't bother fixing it. We just use our phones anyway. There is an old wooden desk that nobody uses in the corner. We mostly just keep our spare coats on it.
