Swastik Packers & Movers

Our place is the Bonder Bill Building, which is right near the Sani Mandir on Uttarpara Road in Dankuni. Swastik Packers & Movers has been operating out of this building for some time now. Moving houses is what we do mostly. If someone in Dankuni or nearby is shifting their home, they usually come looking for us. It is a messy job, packing up plates and furniture and loading them into a truck, but we have the hang of it by now. The office is not very fancy, just a desk and some chairs near the temple. We spend more time out at people’s houses than we do sitting here anyway. Dankuni can be a busy area with all the trucks, but being on Uttarpara Road makes it easy for us to get on the main routes. We use a lot of bubble wrap and tape. Sometimes we run out of boxes and have to go hunt for more, which is just how it is. We try to be careful with people's things because we know how much it matters to them. It is physical labor and we get tired by the end of the day. But seeing a family settled in their new place is a good feeling. We are just local people helping other local people move their lives from one house to another. It takes a lot of patience to get everything packed right, but we just keep working until it's finished.
