If you are walking down Chittaranjan Avenue and look for number 117A, that’s us. Swastik Metcast Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for quite a while. It’s a typical city building, so space is a bit tight compared to those big industrial parks. We have to be smart about how we move things in and out. The street outside is always humming with people and cars, which is just life in this part of the city. Inside, we focus on the metcast work. It’s a lot of heat and heavy molds. The walls are a bit stained from the smoke over the years, but it gives the place character. We aren’t interested in making it look like a boutique. It’s a place for metalwork, pure and simple. We have a small crew and we all know our roles. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding a place to park on the Avenue, so we have to run out and help them. It’s a bit chaotic but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of it. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign. The address is enough for the people who need to find us. We just focus on the metal and making sure the pieces come out right. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Most of us take lunch together right here in the shop.
