We are up on the 13th floor of the Acropolis building on Rajdanga Main Road. It’s a bit different from the older parts of Kolkata since this is a newer, bigger building. Being in Kasba is convenient because there are plenty of places to eat and the roads are decent. Even though the building looks fancy from the outside, our office is just a regular workspace. We deal with import and export, so there’s a lot of tracking shipments on the computer. From the window, you can see a lot of the city, which is a nice distraction when the work gets boring. We have a few desks, some half-dead plants in the corner, and a lot of wires running across the floor. It’s not perfectly organized, but we know where everything is. The elevators can take forever during the lunch rush, so we usually try to go early or late. We aren't a big corporation, just a small group of people trying to make the business work. We don't wear suits or anything like that unless someone really important is coming by, which isn't often. Most days it's just jeans and shirts. We spend a lot of time arguing about which transport company is better or why a shipment is stuck. It’s just the usual day-to-day stuff for us. We’re just happy to have a solid roof over our heads and enough work to keep us busy.
