St Francis Teachers Training College

St Francis Teachers Training College is located at P 188 on CIT Road in Beliaghata. We are right across from Gurudas College, which makes this a very busy spot for students in Kolkata. Our focus is strictly on training people who want to become teachers. The building at P 188 in Scheme-4M has seen many groups of students pass through its doors over the years. Inside, it’s mostly classrooms filled with desks and stacks of papers. It’s a quiet place for study, though the noise from CIT Road is always there in the background. You can hear the buses and the general bustle of the city all day long. The people who come here are usually very serious about their careers. They spend a lot of time working on lesson plans and studying for their own exams. We don't have a big campus with gardens. It’s a very functional space meant for learning and nothing else. The staff here has a lot of experience and they’ve seen how the education system has changed over the decades. We don't try to be a fancy modern institution. We just provide a straightforward place for people to get the training they need. There are plenty of local tea shops nearby where students gather to talk during their breaks. It’s just a normal, hardworking part of the Beliaghata neighborhood and we’ve been here for a long time now. It feels like home to many of us.
