Our office is over at 9B Chetla Road. If you know that part of Kolkata, you know it stays pretty active. We work on infrastructure projects. That means a lot of time spent looking at site reports and dealing with contractors. We aren't a huge outfit with hundreds of secretaries. It’s mostly just us in a smallish space trying to keep the projects on track. Infrastructure sounds like a big word, but really it’s just about building things that people need, like roads or foundations. We deal with a lot of cement and iron. The phone rings a lot with guys from the sites asking for more materials. We try to keep things moving so nobody is sitting around waiting. Sometimes the weather in Kolkata messes up our schedule, but we just adjust. We’ve had the same address for a while now. Most of the people working here are local. We don't go in for fancy meetings. We usually just stand around a table and look at drawings until we figure out the next step. It’s a practical way to work. We don't promise the world, we just try to get the current project done so we can move to the next one. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes even Sundays if the deadline is close. It's just the way things are here.
