S.P.M.L

Our office is located in Jamnipali, right above Mangala Bazar. Being on the first floor means we hear all the noise from the market downstairs throughout the day. It’s a lively place in Korba, and Suman Paul looks after things here. We share the space in S.V.B.P Nagar, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a local workspace. There are desks, some old cupboards for files, and always a pot of tea somewhere. We deal with projects and marketing under the S.P.M.L name, but we don't really use big words to describe it. We just show up, check what’s on the list for the day, and get to it. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but we’re used to them by now. Often, we’re out on the field or talking to vendors in the bazaar. Jamnipali is a tight-knit area, so everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. If someone needs us, they just walk in and ask. It’s a bit dusty because of the industrial surroundings in Korba, but that’s just how life is here. We try to keep things organized, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. It’s just a group of us working hard and trying to stay on top of the schedule. We don't make big promises, we just try to finish the work we started.
