Spectrum Impex

Spectrum Impex is based at No. 20/1/4, Ballygunge Place. It’s a typical office setup in a residential part of the city. We do a lot of importing and exporting, which basically means we spend most of our time on the phone or on the computer tracking shipments. Our rooms are filled with folders and stacks of paperwork. Dealing with customs and shipping companies can be a headache sometimes, but it’s what we do. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where we coordinate everything. Ballygunge Place is a nice area, though parking can be a bit of a nightmare when the delivery vans show up at the curb. We have a small team here. We’ve known each other for years, so the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay on top of the schedules. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just want to make sure the boxes get from one place to another without getting lost or broken. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to spend the whole afternoon explaining that to our clients. It’s just the nature of the business we are in. We keep at it because it’s what we know how to do. By the time the evening rolls around, we’re usually ready to head home and beat the Ballygunge traffic before it gets too bad.
