South Maharastra Road Carriers

It is a busy place over here in Kolkata. Our office for South Maharastra Road Carriers has been at 2 Saha Lane for a long time now. Mukta Ram Babu Street is always crowded, so you have to get used to the noise. We mostly just focus on moving goods across the roads. It is dusty and tiring work most days, but we keep at it. My cousin came to help out with the books last year because the paperwork was getting a bit much. We do not have a fancy glass office or anything like that. It is just a simple space with some wooden desks and a few old chairs. Sometimes the big trucks get stuck near the lane entrance, and we have to go out and help the drivers navigate. We do not use any big computer systems to track everything. We mostly just write things down on pads and keep them in the metal cabinets. It is honest work and we know the routes around the state pretty well. The building itself is quite old and the walls could use some paint, but it stays cool enough in the heat. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the loaders to finish. The neighbors know us well by now. If you walk down Saha Lane, you will probably see us standing outside talking to the drivers. It is a plain and simple operation. We just move things from one place to another.
