Soni Enterprise

Soni Enterprise is located at 182 Shyam Nagar, in the Dum Dum area of Kolkata. We are right on Shyam Nagar Road, which is a place that sees a lot of foot traffic and rickshaws every single day. The shop itself is a typical Kolkata setup, a bit older with high ceilings and walls that have seen many monsoons. We handle a variety of items here, mostly general goods and stuff for the house. The humidity in Dum Dum can be something else, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes down Shyam Nagar Road. My day starts with checking the inventory and seeing what got damp or needs moving. It is a small business, so I do most of the heavy lifting myself. People in this neighborhood have been coming to this spot for a long time. You get to know the families and their kids as they grow up. The shop is a bit cluttered, with sacks and boxes stacked in the corners, but that is just how we manage the space we have. There is no fancy marketing here, just a simple sign and the goods we sell. Sometimes the rain pours down so hard on the road that customers just huddle inside the doorway for a bit. It’s a nice way to spend the day, even if it is a lot of work. We just stay open and wait for the regulars to stop by. The tea stalls nearby usually have people talking loudly until late at night.
