You can find Occident Elevators Pvt. Ltd. at No. 273, right on the ground floor. It’s a practical space because we deal with heavy parts and elevator components that are a pain to carry up any stairs. Being on the ground floor makes it much easier to load and unload the trucks when they come by. The office is usually a bit dusty because of the tools and the metal parts we keep around. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at different sites checking on lifts. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean all day. There is usually some grease or oil on the rags in the corner. We have a few desks where we handle the paperwork, but most of the room is taken up by spare parts and equipment. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. We just focus on getting the elevators running like they should. It’s a lot of troubleshooting and figuring out why a motor is making a weird noise. When someone calls with a problem, we grab our bags and head out. The shop is our home base where we organize the day’s schedule and drink some tea before heading back into the heat.
