Our office is over at 18 Lower Range here in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty hectic with the traffic and the people walking by. We have been operating from this spot for a while now. The zip code is 700017. Inside, it is mostly just a lot of paperwork and computers on desks. We do commercial impex work which means a lot of phone calls and checking on shipping dates. The building is not brand new but it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the pavement outside. We usually grab lunch from one of the small shops nearby and eat quickly so we can get back to the files. It is just the way things go here. There is not much to say about the decor because we focus more on getting the boxes moved and the invoices cleared. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy that the street floods a little, and we just watch it from the doorway. We know our regulars and the guys who deliver the mail. It is a practical setup for the kind of work we do every day. We do not use any fancy systems, just the stuff that has worked for us for years. It is a bit loud with the city noise but you get used to it after a week or two of working here. The space is a bit cramped but we manage.
