Simplex Infrastructures Ltd.

Down in Nasigram, Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. keeps a small office to handle the local side of things. It’s right in the Burdwan district. Most days, it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and the occasional truck passing by on the road outside. We aren’t a huge operation with hundreds of people sitting in cubicles. It’s more of a place where a handful of us gather to look at maps and sort out the payroll for the laborers. We keep our files in old cabinets and use a lot of handwritten notes because it’s easier than staring at a screen all day. The village is quiet for the most part, which helps when we need to focus on the numbers. We don't have any glossy brochures to hand out. If you want to know what we do, you just have to come by and talk to us. We’ve had this spot for a while and the locals are used to seeing us around. It’s a very basic setup, just a couple of rooms and some chairs that have seen better days. We don't see the point in spending money on fancy furniture when the work happens out in the field anyway. We just need a roof over our heads and a place to keep the tools and papers dry. It’s a simple way to run things, but it works for what we need every day.
