Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. has a base here in Morah, which is part of the Haripal area in Hooghly. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren’t used to the local roads. We have two phone numbers because sometimes the signal isn’t great, or someone is away from the house. One is a personal mobile and the other stays at the house. That’s just how we manage things around here. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a big HR department or a marketing team. It’s just the people who live and work in the village. We handle a lot of the details right from the desk in the corner of the room. The pace is steady, though it gets hectic when a new project starts up. You can usually find us sitting around talking about the next steps or checking the weather to see if we can work outside. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s honest work. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. We just care that the tasks are done right and the people involved are treated fair. Sometimes the kids from the village play nearby, and it can get a bit noisy, but we don't mind. It feels more like a community than just a business address. We’ve been here in this part of West Bengal for years now.
