Out in Dumdum, our office is at 14/1/V, Veerpara Lane. This area has a very specific feel to it—lots of narrow lanes and old houses. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you don’t know the way. The office itself is quite old and has a lot of character. We have high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. It’s a bit of a contrast to the modern projects we work on. We handle a lot of the regional planning from this branch. There are rolls of blueprints tucked into every corner. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be organized. The local market is just a short walk away, and that’s where we get our food and supplies. It’s a very grounded place to work. We don't have corporate logos everywhere or a polished front desk. It’s mostly just us and our computers, trying to make sure the numbers work out. The train station isn’t too far, so we hear the whistles throughout the day. It’s a busy, lived-in neighborhood. We’ve been here for years and we know the local vendors by name. Our work is all about the details of building things, so we spend a lot of time double-checking everything. It’s a slow and steady process. We aren't in a rush to look big or important. We just want to do the job right and move on to the next one.
