Simplex Infrastructures Limited

Our office on Moore Avenue is in a pretty active part of Kolkata. We’ve been here at 45/8C for a good while, operating as part of Simplex Infrastructures Limited. It’s a typical city office—not a lot of extra space, but we make use of every inch we have. Most days, we’re buried in paperwork related to various urban construction projects. Kolkata is a tricky place to build because everything is so crowded and the space is limited, so we spend a lot of time planning how to get heavy equipment through narrow streets. There’s a lot of shouting across the room when things get busy, but it’s all in good spirit and just part of the job. We have a lot of history in this city, and you can see it in the old files we still keep around in the back. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a breather. We deal with everything from piling to building maintenance on a large scale. It’s a lot of coordination with the local municipality and various utility folks. The walls are covered in project charts that we try to keep updated. It’s not a polished environment, just a working office where people who know construction come to do their thing. We try to keep the noise down for the neighbors, but with construction work, that isn't always possible. It's just how the work goes.
