We’re located at 19 T, Durga Prasanna Paramhansa Road in the Naktala area. It’s an older part of Calcutta, and our office fits right in. Simplex Infrastructures Limited has a lot of history, and this branch handles its fair share of the workload. The street outside can get pretty crowded, especially during the festivals. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze of desks and filing cabinets. We focus on the structural side of things. Most of the staff here have been with the company for years, so we know how each other works. There isn't much in the way of decoration. We have some old photos of past projects and a lot of maps pinned to the walls. It’s a place where we drink a lot of tea and talk about load-bearing capacities and material costs. We don’t really bother with fancy presentations. If someone wants to know about a project, we just pull out the physical file. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. The windows are usually open to let in some air, even if it brings in the noise from the road. We’re just a group of people making sure the construction projects stay on track. It’s tiring work sometimes, and the hours can be long when we're finishing up a phase, but that's just the nature of infrastructure work in a city like this. We just keep pluggin' away at the tasks on our desks.
