Simplex Infrastructure Ltd is right here on Mallick Lane. If you know Bhowanipore, you know it gets a bit crowded. We have been at this 12 Mallick Lane spot for some time now. It is an old building, typical of this part of Kolkata. There is usually some noise from the street, but we are used to it by now. The office is not very fancy. We have some desks, a lot of files, and a few fans going all day. Most of us come in early because the traffic nearby is a mess later on. We deal with infrastructure work, so there is always talk about cement, steel, and site schedules. Sometimes visitors find the lane a bit narrow, but it is easy enough to find if you look for the landmark nearby. People here just get on with their work. We drink a lot of tea from the shop around the corner. It is a busy place, honestly. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will usually point you to who you need to see. It is just a practical space where we handle the paperwork for the big projects happening outside. That is mostly what goes on here daily. It's a regular workplace with regular people doing their jobs in a quiet corner of Bhowanipore. We don't spend much time on decorations. Most of the desks are covered in rolls of blueprints and sticky notes about deadlines. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons but the old walls keep it somewhat cool.
