Sigma Leather

Down in Park Sircus, specifically the Beg Bagan area near Bishop College, is where you’ll find Sigma Leather. You can usually tell you’re getting close because of the distinct smell of treated leather that hangs in the air. Our space isn't huge, and it’s often filled with rolls of hide and scraps that we haven't found a use for yet. It’s a dusty place, honestly, and no matter how much we sweep, there’s always a bit of grit on the tables. We spend our hours cutting, measuring, and checking the quality of the material. It’s hard on the hands, but it’s what we do. The college students walk past our door all day, and sometimes the area gets really crowded during festival times. We don't have a big sign or a fancy showroom; it’s more of a workshop vibe where the actual work happens. Someone is usually humming a song or listening to the radio while they work on a piece of leather. It’s not a glamorous job, and our clothes usually end up with some marks on them by the end of the shift. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep the orders moving out. It’s a bit of a grit-and-grind type of existence, but it’s honest and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We take a break when we can, usually just standing by the door to get some fresh air.
