Shyam Group

Shyam Group operates out of 5 S S Chambers on C. R. Avenue. If you know Kolkata, you know how busy Chittaranjan Avenue gets with all the buses and yellow taxis. Our office is right in the middle of that hustle. It's an older building, S S Chambers, and we’ve been here for a good number of years. We handle various business interests from this office. It’s mostly administrative work—lots of phone calls, signing papers, and keeping track of accounts. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have so many files stacked up over the years. We have a few staff members who have been with the group since they were young. We usually start the day with some tea and a quick chat about what needs to be done. There isn't anything fancy about our setup. We have wooden desks that have been here forever and the fans overhead keep the air moving. People come and go throughout the day for meetings. We don't really have a big website or anything like that. We just do our work and deal with the people we know in the local trade. It's a steady environment. C. R. Avenue is a convenient spot for us because it’s close to everything we need in the city. We don't mind the noise much anymore. You just get used to the city sounds when you work here as long as we have.
