Shivmani Exports (P) Ltd.

Tiljala Road is a busy place to be. Our building at 45/2 is right in the middle of all that activity. Shivmani Exports (P) Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s a sturdy building, but you can tell it has seen a lot of use over the years. We have the warehouse area filled with goods ready for export. The air is often thick and humid, especially during the rainy months. We have big industrial fans that help a bit, but you still end up sweating by noon. We spend the day checking the quality of the items and boxing them up. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and stacking. We use thick markers to write on the crates. The office part of the building is just a couple of desks with old computers and a lot of ledgers. We don't have a lot of decoration on the walls, maybe just a calendar and some maps. People come and go all day, truck drivers, loaders, and the occasional neighbor. It’s a noisy, busy atmosphere, but we’ve found our own rhythm in it. We don't have a corporate handbook or anything. We just know what needs to be done and we do it. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall at the corner. When the day is over, we’re usually pretty tired. We lock the gate, say our goodbyes, and head into the crowd on the street. It is just a job but we like it.
