Shapoorji Pallonji Co. Ltd.

Our office is at Be-322 in Salt Lake, specifically in Sector 1. We are right by the Quality Bus Stop, which makes it easy for the staff to get here in the morning. Shapoorji Pallonji is a big company name, but this specific office is just where we handle a lot of the local coordination and administrative tasks. It’s a typical Salt Lake building with the usual layout. There are a lot of files and maps spread out on the tables most of the time. The bus stop outside is always crowded, so there is a constant sound of engines and people talking. It becomes background noise after you’ve been here for a week. We have a small pantry where we keep the water filter and some biscuits. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief during the humid months in Kolkata. We spend a lot of our hours on the phone or typing out reports for various projects. It isn't a very fancy place with glass walls or anything; it’s more of a functional space for engineers and clerks to get their work done. Sometimes the supervisors come in from the sites with mud on their boots, and the whole place smells like rain and earth for a while. We just stick to our schedules and try to keep the paperwork moving so nothing gets stuck. It’s a steady routine that keeps the day going by pretty fast for everyone here.
