Shanker Logistics

People in Kolkata know Bangur Avenue pretty well. Our office is in Block A, at number 32. It’s a typical Kolkata neighborhood with a lot of character. Shanker Logistics has its space here. It’s nothing too special to look at from the outside, just another building in a row of them. Inside, it's mostly desks and the constant sound of typing. The 700 055 pin code is where we live and work every day. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The tea stalls nearby are where we usually end up during our short breaks. Kolkata summers are tough, but we have our coolers and it’s manageable. Logistics is a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing around. We handle the paperwork and coordinate things with various people. Sometimes the phones won't stop ringing and it gets a bit chaotic. Other times, it's quiet enough to actually hear the street noise outside. We don't have a fancy mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just show up and do the work that needs to be done. The neighbors know us by name. We are just a group of people trying to keep things moving. Most of our days are spent checking logs and making calls to different ports or warehouses. Block A is a decent place to be located. It’s easy enough for people to find us if they know the area. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile.
