Our office for Shalimar Group is just one of those places along the road where work happens every day. It is not a shiny new building with a lobby and a security guard. It is just an old-school Kolkata address where we sit and handle our affairs. The road outside can get quite noisy with the horns and the people going about their business, but inside we just focus on what is on the desk. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. Most of our neighbors are other local businesses or families who have lived on Sarat Chandra Dhar Road for generations. We like it that way. It feels real and honest. When the mail comes, it is usually just for the usual bills and letters that keep a business moving. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just run the Shalimar Group from this corner of the city. Sometimes we step out for tea at the local stall nearby. It is a simple life and a simple way of doing things.
