Simplex Infrastructures Ltd.

Our office is at Simplex House on Shakespeare Sarani in Kolkata. It’s an old building with a lot of history, and you can feel it when you walk through the doors. Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. has been part of this neighborhood for a very long time. The street outside is always packed with yellow taxis and people walking fast. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but there’s always the sound of people talking over blueprints or typing away. We have piles of files that seem to grow every week. It’s not the most modern setup, but it’s where we do our work. Working in infrastructure means we’re often thinking about big things like bridges or roads, but our day-to-day is just regular office stuff. We drink a lot of tea here, mostly because it’s a way to get through the long afternoons. Sometimes the fans overhead make a clicking sound that everyone just ignores. We’ve seen the city change quite a bit from our windows over the years. People come and go, but we’ve stayed put. We don't really bother with being fancy. We just focus on the projects we have on our plate. It’s a lot of logistics and making sure we have enough people in the right places. Sometimes things go wrong, and we have to stay late to fix them. That’s just how it is when you’re building stuff for the public. It isn't always easy, but we keep going anyway.
