You can find us on the 2nd floor of Jasmine Tower, which is at No. 31 Shakespeare Sarani. Emerald Commex Impex Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this office for a few years now. Shakespeare Sarani is always packed with cars and people, so being up on the second floor gives us a bit of a break from the street noise. The office is full of filing cabinets, desks, and the usual sounds of phones ringing and printers going off. We handle a lot of import and export details, so there’s always a pile of documents that need to be stamped or sent out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy from nine to five. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s usually where we gather for a break. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and the tops of trees. We don’t really do much in the way of decorating; the walls are just off-white and covered with calendars or maps. It’s a functional space meant for getting through the daily list of shipments and trades. We know the other people in the building, and the elevator is usually a bit slow, so we take the stairs when we're in a hurry. Most of our day is spent communicating with suppliers and checking on transport logs, making sure everything is moving where it should be.
