Shahi Furniture

Our shop is located at 263 B.B. Ganguly Street. We have been making and selling various types of furniture here at Shahi Furniture for a very long time. The street outside is always loud and there is always some kind of commotion going on. Inside the shop, it always smells like fresh sawdust and wood polish. We have some pieces that are finished and sitting on the floor, and others that are still being worked on by the guys in the back. It is a bit of a maze with all the tables, chairs, and wooden cabinets squeezed into the floor space. We do not have one of those fancy designer showrooms with the bright lights and carpets. It is just the workshop and a small area for people to walk through and look at what we have ready. My father started this business, and now I am here with a couple of guys who help out with all the heavy lifting and the sanding. We use solid wood and try to make things that will actually last for a few generations. Sometimes a piece takes a bit longer than we thought it would because the wood is being stubborn or we ran out of a certain type of metal handle. That is just how it goes with handmade stuff.
