Sengupta Trading

Sengupta Trading is right on Talpukur Road in Sarsuna. We are very close to the Ghoshpara Kalimandir, which is how most people give directions to get here. It’s a busy little spot, especially during festival times when the temple area gets crowded. Our shop is at 8/1B. It’s basically a long room packed with crates and boxes. We deal in all sorts of goods, so you never really know what’s going to be arriving on the next truck. The space is a bit cramped because we try to stock as much as possible. My uncle started this place, and I’ve been helping out since I was a teenager. Now I run the day-to-day things with one assistant who mostly handles the heavy lifting. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical workspace for trading. The floor is often dusty from all the boxes moving in and out. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back window, so we have to move the stock around to keep it dry. Sarsuna is a good place to be, and the neighbors are all friendly. We usually sit on the wooden stools out front when things are slow and the sun starts to go down. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. We just focus on keeping the inventory moving and making sure the counts are right at the end of every day.
