We've been over here at Bada Bazaar for a while now. Specifically, you can find us at No. 23 in Sector 14. Dealing with red sandalwood isn't always the easiest job, but it's what we do every day. Most of the time, the workshop is pretty noisy because we're busy making things. My family started this business and it just stuck. We handle the wood ourselves, making sure the pieces are cut right. People from around the neighborhood know the spot. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the workspace where all the logs and finished pieces sit. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that is part of the work. If you walk past the shop, you'll probably smell the wood before you see the sign. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get the orders done and make sure the sandalwood is handled the way it's supposed to be. It takes a lot of patience to work with this kind of material. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the tools. If you're looking for us, we're usually in by early morning. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation for us here in Kolkata. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but our little corner in Bada Bazaar stays pretty much the same.
