If you head down Bose Pukur Road in Kasba, you’ll find us at number 41B/1. It’s a small shop, and the sidewalk outside is often blocked by a car or two that we are currently working on. We do all sorts of things to make cars look a bit better or feel more comfortable, like putting in new seat covers or fixing up the interior trim. It’s a messy business sometimes, with scraps of fabric and old floor mats piled up in the back. We’ve been here in Kasba for a good while, so most of the taxi drivers and locals know to come to us if they need something done to their vehicle. It’s not a high-end garage with glass walls. It’s just a place where we use our hands to stitch, glue, and fit accessories. On a hot day, it can get pretty stuffy inside with all the glue fumes and the heat from the street, but we just keep the fans going. We don’t really do any big advertising. Usually, someone sees a neighbor’s car and asks where they got the work done, and then they show up here. We take our time to make sure the covers fit snugly and the electronics are wired up right. It’s just honest work. We like seeing a car go out looking different than when it arrived. It’s a way to earn a living that keeps us busy from morning until late evening.
