Samrat Plywood Ltd

So we are Samrat Plywood Ltd and we've been operating out of 11/4 Ramkrishna Das Lane for a good while now. Kolkata is a crowded place, especially in this part of town, but we managed to make it work. If you know where the lane is, you know it's not the widest street, but we get the plywood sheets in and out somehow. Sujit Mukherjee is the name you’ll see on most of the paperwork here. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at. Just some racks, some desks, and plenty of dust from the wood. We spend most of the day talking to carpenters and guys looking to fix up their kitchens. Sometimes the humidity in Kolkata makes the wood feel heavy, but that’s just how it is. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with air conditioning and lights. It is more about getting the orders right and making sure people get the thickness they asked for. The neighbors around here know us well since we've been on this street forever. You can usually hear the sound of tea cups clinking from the shop next door while we work. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most people just walk in or call because they heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s a simple way to run things, but it keeps us busy enough from morning until the sun goes down and we lock up the gate.
