Samcor Glass Ltd

Our place is tucked away in Aravinda Nagar, over in the Regent Park area of Kolkata. It's a bit of a trek if you're coming from the city center, but it's where we’ve set up shop. We work with glass, which is a tricky business because stuff breaks if you aren't careful. The building isn't brand new, and you can see the wear and tear on the walls, but it serves us well enough. Most of us have been living around here for years. We walk to work or take a short rickshaw ride. The workspace is filled with the sound of glass clinking and people shouting over the noise of the fans. It gets humid in Kolkata, especially during the monsoon, and the factory floor can feel a bit heavy. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write pretty speeches. We just handle the orders as they come in. If a batch isn't right, we fix it. That's pretty much it. There are lots of small shops around us, so lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall. We know the neighbors, and they know us. It’s a tight-knit spot. People come to us when they need glass work done without any fuss. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to keep the lights on and do a decent day’s work for the people who trust us with their business.
