We operate out of 2, Sitala Lane, which is one of those narrow little streets that has a lot of character. S.A. Plastochem has been based here for a good while. The building is older and has that solid feel to it, even if the stairs creak a bit when you walk up. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze for deliveries sometimes, but we’ve learned how to manage. Our daily routine is pretty straightforward. We deal with the chemicals and plastics side of things without much fuss. The office is usually filled with the smell of paper and whatever we are moving that day. It’s a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. There isn't really a boss who sits in a separate room; we’re all pretty much out on the floor together. We don't put much stock in having a fancy website or a glossy brochure. Most people find us through word of mouth anyway. The light in the lane can be a bit dim in the evenings, but it’s a peaceful spot once the main road noise fades out. We just try to keep things simple and honest. If a customer needs something, we look for it in the back and get it to them. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, but it works for us and the people we serve. Sometimes the rain floods the lane slightly, but we just put some bricks down and carry on.
