Expo Chain & Bearing Stores is our place on N. S Road. We are at No. 71/D, on the ground floor in Room No. A 162. If you’ve ever walked down N. S Road, you know it’s the heart of the hardware trade. The street is always loud with the sound of metal and people shouting. Our shop is small and packed with boxes. We have chains and bearings stacked from the floor to the ceiling. It’s hard to move around sometimes without bumping into a shelf. Everything smells like machine oil and cold steel. It’s a bit dark inside because the shelves block the light. We spend most of our time looking through catalogs or climbing ladders to find a specific part. The ground floor location is good because those boxes are heavy. We see all kinds of people coming in, from mechanics to factory owners. Everyone is usually in a hurry. We don’t have any fancy displays or marketing posters. Just the parts in their boxes. N. S Road is a tough place to work because of the congestion, but we are used to it. We’ve been in Room A 162 for quite a while now. It’s a steady job, just counting out bearings and cutting chains to size. We don't try to make it sound more exciting than it is. It's just a hardware store on a very busy road in the middle of the city. We keep the ledger on the main counter and that's it.
