Jaya Shree Textile

Our textile shop is located in Rishra, which is a well-known area for this kind of trade. We are situated right near the landmark of Jaishree Textile, which makes it a lot easier for folks to find us if they are visiting the neighborhood for the first time. The shop itself is packed from floor to ceiling with rolls of different cloth and various types of fabric. It can be a little bit overwhelming to look at if you aren't used to seeing so much material in one place. There is fabric on the shelves, on the heavy wooden tables, and sometimes even in piles on the floor when a new shipment arrives from the mills. We spend a large part of our day measuring out specific lengths of cloth and cutting them for the customers who walk in. Our scissors are always getting dull from all the cutting, so we have to sharpen them quite often to keep up. It is a very manual and hands-on process. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. Most of our business comes from local people walking by or regulars who have been buying their fabric from us for many years. The light inside the shop isn't always the greatest, so we sometimes have to take a piece of fabric out to the front door to show someone the real color in the natural sunlight. It is a simple, dusty job, but we enjoy it.
