Richie Bags

Richie Bags is located at 44, Burtolla Street. If you know the area, you know it’s a tight street with lots of activity. Our place is basically a warehouse and a small office space all rolled into one. There are bags everywhere—stacked in the corners, sitting on the tables, and packed into boxes ready to go out. We spend most of our time counting stock and making sure the stitching is right. It’s a bit dusty because of all the fabric and the street outside. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices. We just have a few desks and a lot of storage space. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on Burtolla Street, so we end up staying a bit longer to get everything unloaded. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the day’s orders. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have a receptionist; you usually just walk in and find one of us working in the back. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep. We’ve been here for a while and the routine doesn’t change much. We just focus on the bags and making sure they get to the customers on time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. The street is noisy but we like being in the thick of it all.
