Ray Veterinary Clinic

Ray Veterinary Clinic is down at 1/5 Shyama Charan Chakraborty Lane, which people around here usually call Tobin Road. It’s a noisy place, mostly because of the dogs barking or the cats meowing in their carriers. We’ve been here for a while and the neighborhood animals know the smells of this place well. The clinic is on the ground floor of an older building. The floors are hard tile because, as you can imagine, things get messy with pets coming in and out all day. We spend a lot of time mopping and cleaning up after our patients. There’s a heavy wooden desk at the front where we keep the schedules. It’s usually covered in notes and maybe a leash someone left behind. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with coffee machines. It’s just a space for people to hold onto their pets while they wait for their turn. The back room is where the actual work happens, with the metal tables and the cabinets full of supplies. We see everything from tiny kittens to big older dogs who have been coming to us since they were pups. The staff is used to the chaos. Sometimes a bird or a rabbit comes in too. We just take them one by one. Outside, Tobin Road is always busy with people walking by and cars honking. It’s a bit cramped, but it’s where we do our work every day.
