Rawtara Friends Export & Import Private Limited

Our small company is set up in Milanpally, and we are working out of Pronoy Kumar Kundu’s place. We call ourselves Rawtara Friends because that is exactly what we are—a group of friends who decided to get into the export and import business together. Milanpally is a nice enough neighborhood, and being at Pronoy’s gives us a good base to operate from. We don't have a fancy warehouse or a big glass office building. It is just a few of us sitting around some desks, making phone calls and tracking containers. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we are all trying to talk at once, but that is what happens when you work with friends. We handle a variety of goods, whatever seems to be in demand or whatever we can find a good source for. We spend a lot of time worrying about shipping dates and whether the rain will slow down the trucks. It isn't a glamorous life, but we enjoy the challenge of figuring out the logistics. We usually have the radio on in the background while we work. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to run a decent business and make sure our families are taken care of. It is a lot of paperwork and sometimes we have to stay late to finish it all, but we don't really mind the extra hours.
