You can find our office at 1, Martin Burn House, up on the 5th Floor in Room No 55. It’s right on R N Mukherjee Road near the Calcutta GPO. It’s one of those older buildings with a lot of history and character, though the elevators can be a bit slow sometimes. We’ve been doing shipping and clearing from this room for a long time. The walls are lined with old folders and there’s always the smell of paper and ink. It’s a very manual process some days, dealing with customs and all the specific rules for clearing goods. We don’t have a website with flashy graphics or anything like that. We just sit at our desks, handle the documents, and talk to the port authorities. The area around the GPO is always bustling with people and couriers. It feels like the heart of the old business district. We take our work seriously but we don't use any of that corporate talk. It’s about knowing the right forms to fill out and who to speak with to get things moving. Most of us have been in this trade for years. We know the shortcuts and the common problems that pop up. It’s just an honest day’s work in a quiet office on the fifth floor, making sure the cargo gets through the system without getting stuck.
